Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 24.06 for Android (Staged)
- Legacy Catalog EOL Notice - The Legacy Catalog in UEM for SaaS UEM Customers will be EOGS on August 31, 2024 and EOL on October 31, 2024. Refer to KB article for details. Please note Workspace ONE Access is required for migration and if not already configured in your environment will need to be configured. If you are using the App Catalog in Intelligent Hub, then you are already migrated and no action is needed. This applies for all platforms (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows).
- Ability to hide Share Logs option in Hub - Administrators can disable the Share Logs button in the Support menu in Intelligent Hub. This button is used by end users to share Intelligent Hub logs through other applications, like email clients or file share applications.
- Support for application terms of use in Hub Catalog - Administrators can now require acceptance of application-specific terms of use when end users install applications through the Intelligent Hub App Catalog.
- Upgrade Target SDK for Hub for Android to API Level 34
- Support for Workspace ONE Mobile Threat Defense Dual Enrollment - Administrators can enable Mobile Threat Defense for activation by the user in the personal profile on Android Enterprise devices with dual profiles

Workspace ONE Tunnel for ChromeOS 24.05
- We are excited to announce support for Workspace ONE Tunnel on ChromeOS. Tunnel is now available on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, ChromeOS and Linux platforms.
- The first release for the Tunnel client on ChromeOS supports the following features:
- Standalone – Unmanaged enrollment.
- There is no requirement for WS1 HUB or MDM enrollment.
- Support for managed enrollment is on the roadmap.
- Basic or SAML authentication for enrollment.
- Full Device Tunnel mode.
- Per-App Tunnel mode support is on the roadmap.
- IPv4 and IPv6 network compatibility
- TLS as well as DTLS channel for UDP optimization

KB Highlights & Announcements Week 29-24:
- We have discovered an issue where Intelligent Hub on Android wrongly applies the custom SDK profiles configured for third-party applications that are embedded with the Workspace ONE SDK. This causes SDK custom settings targeted for intelligent Hub to be overwritten and no longer applied on the device. The SDK custom setting for Workspace ONE Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) will get overwritten in such a scenario for example and will cause MTD to get deactivated on the devices.
- The Workspace ONE Access login API endpoint which was erstwhile used to enable the Access-UEM integration has been deprecated. An alternate authentication method will now be in place where UEM will redirect to a different endpoint to perform the full authentication as configured for the tenant. Existing integrations will not be affected. However customers on v2210 or lower will not be able to integrate Access and UEM due to this deprecation.
Upcoming Changes to Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android (2024) (97418)
- Note: The date for deprecated APIs going offline has been extended from June 20th, 2024 to September 20th, 2024.
On June 20th, 2023, Google announced the deprecation of several APIs used by applications to integrate with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), the default push notification service used by Workspace ONE UEM to communicate with Intelligent Hub on Android. Google will begin taking the deprecated APIs offline later this year. By September 20th, 2024, organizations may need to update Workspace ONE UEM are required to continue using FCM for real-time device management.
Workspace ONE Access OAuth2 Client Credentials Grant Flow Change (6000064)
- This article briefs a change in OAuth2 client credentials grant flow change
- Current Behavior :
Workspace one Access allows creation of OAuth2client with client_credentials and refresh_token grant together. When requesting access token using client_credentials grant, Workspace ONE Access issues a refresh token also along with the access token. When access token is expired, the issued refresh token can be used along with refresh_token grant to obtain a new access token.
- New Behavior :
For OAuth2 grant with client credentials grant, since client credentials is already present, there is no need to use refresh token to obtain new access tokens. Going forward Workspace ONE Access will not issue refresh token if access token is obtained using client credentials grant. When the access token expires new access token has to be obtained using client credentials grant.
HW-180740: Login and app launch may fail due out of memory error (92340)
- This article provides guidance on troubleshooting and resolving the
java.lang.errors observed in application nodes. These errors can lead to communication issues between connector and appliance nodes, resulting in timeout and circuit-breaker errors. Restarting the affected appliance node clears the Metaspace memory, resolving the issue temporarily.OutOfMemoryError: Metaspace

We are announcing the End of Life (EOL) for the UEM Legacy Catalog for UEM SaaS customers only at this time. If you are a On-Premises UEM Customer, this notice does not impact you at this time, further communications will follow for timelines on migrating On-Premises UEM Customers to the Intelligent Hub App Catalog. - Workspace ONE UEM - Updated requirements for on-premise cumulative patches (94706)
The base GA version for current Workspace ONE UEM releases is being revised through updated installers. On-premise customers will need to consume a revised installer for a given major version before any future cumulative patches can be deployed for that major version. These revised installers are required to address compatibility issues with regular cumulative patches. - Introducing Workspace ONE (WS1) UEM Next-Gen SaaS
VMware is excited to announce that the resource management & tracking improvements, the first major feature-based milestone in the Workspace ONE UEM Modernization Journey, is now available for customer testing. These improvements will be enabled in limited testing environments (CN135) starting on Thursday August 24, 2023.
