Workspace ONE Hub for Linux 24.10
New Features/Improvements in this App Version
The Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 24.10 release adds some great new features and capabilities.
- Restrictions Profile (LAGNT-1088)
- With this release, an admin now has the option of configuring device restrictions and deploying them in a profile to enrolled devices. This profile includes a dozen configurations such as restricting sudo access, limited access to USB storage media and naming restricted folders on the endpoints to name a few. Please see the documentation under "tester resources" in the beta portal for more information.
- Passcode Profile (LAGNT-1095)
- With this release, an admin now has the option of configuring mandatory passcode restrictions via a profile to enrolled devices. This profile enforcement for a handful of typical passcode restrictions like complexity, length and expiration timeframe on the endpoints to name a few. Please see the documentation under "tester resources" in the beta portal for more information.
- Omnissa Rebranding, including install folder change (LAGNT-1094)
- As part of our move to an independent company, we have removed references to our former employers. Most notably, in the case of WS1 for Linux, we have renamed the install folder from vmware to omnissa.
- Ability to use Native App Management to upgrade the Intelligent Hub (LAGNT-1173)
- With 24.10 moving forward, by uploading either the .deb or the .rpm installer, you can control the deployment of upgraded versions of the Intelligent Hub on your enrolled Linux devices. This will be available for all environments as they get enabled for Linux native app management in Workspace ONE UEM (as noted with the 24.08 release of the Hub).
- *Please note: due to limitations of the current implementation of app management, this can only be used for a single architecture of the hub at this time. For example, I can deploy the .deb installer for my x86 devices, but then can’t also add a version for either my arm devices in the same OG.
- This release also includes some smaller changes and resolves some notable issues found since our last release:
- LAGNT-302: Add support to report all the sensors once a day minimum
- LAGNT-1068: Add SSID and RSSI info in network adapter sample
- LAGNT-1183: Cert based Wi-Fi profile successfully deployed using Modstack’s DSM flow
- LAGNT-1225: Ensure failed multi-step profile payload successfully removes installed payloads
- LAGNT-1229: Update puppet version when Hub upgraded
- LAGNT-1230: Ensure global proxy config properly sets port value
- LAGNT-1232: Ensure network proxy config properly sets port value
- LAGNT-1233: Certificate profile failure due to update-ca-certificates method logging incorrectly
- LAGNT-1244: Ensure existing sensors work after 24.10 upgrade
- LAGNT-1245: Ensure existing cert-based Wi-Fi config works after 24.10 upgrade

- The log is formatted with the following headers: Timestamp,Type,Sess ID,Flow ID,User,Device Name,Device UDID,Address,Port
Example output: 2024-10-10T10:10:10+0000,API server TCP Connection Problem,-1,0,MFAConfigManager,10.87.133.1,01178f73-5e82-c207-d34d-ac447ba26e5c,wns-1.ssdevrd.com,443

- Supportability Improvements to vpnreport
- The vpnreport utility has been enhanced for better diagnostics and easier consumption. Use `./vpnreport allowlist --help` for all available options.
- Added ability to view the local allowlist cache (instead of calling UEM API) via the -cache option.
- Vpnreport may be formatted in either CSV or JSON format.
- Retain vpnreport information on a service restart.
- Management Utility: dux 2.2
- The download location for dux has changed.
- For AMD64/Intel: https://packages.omnissa.com/ws1-tunnel/dux/2.2.0.247/dux-2.2.0.247-1.x86_64.rpm
- For ARM64/Apple Silicon: https://packages.omnissa.com/ws1-tunnel/dux/2.2.0.247/dux-2.2.0.247-1.aarch64.rpm
- Navigate to the README file for further information.
- Support localhost deployment without using SSH
For organizations that do not want to leave SSH enabled for remote administration, you can choose to leverage a hypervisor’s virtual console to do administration. In most insatnces, it is recommended to leave ssh enabled so dux can administer multiple hosts from a single location.
To use dux locally from the same host, specify the host information as “localhost,” the hostname, or the IP address under the “Tunnel Server Host(s) Information” section of the manifest. - Added exec-shell command to SSH directly into a container
In order to run Vpnreport, it may be required to directly interact with a Tunnel container. - A few other improvements have been added:
- Support for defining a custom SSH port in the manifest
- Dry run command now checks if the Tunnel container image is available at the right location.
- Fallback to interactive prompt for credentials on SSH authentication failure
- Product Documentation
- See How to Deploy the Tunnel Container to get started.

Horizon Cloud Service - next-gen, December 19
- Universal Broker
- Universal Broker URL Transition - When an administrator initiates the transition to the new Omnissa URL domains, the original URL will remain available until March 31st, 2025. Migrate to the new URLs as soon as possible to avoid service disruption.

Your Horizon Edges will be moved to the new offers automatically as part of the next Edge maintenance. No action is required unless you have manually added these offers to a private marketplace. In that case you will need to add these new offers to your marketplace per the Horizon Cloud documentation.
