Introducing Workspace ONE Assist 23.10

  • What's New
Reduced latency and improved real-time streaming experience for Windows devices
Workspace ONE Assist now supports improved streaming and controls for windows devices during a screen share session by leveraging hardware acceleration and efficient adaptation algorithms.
Improved remoting experience includes: Hardware accelerated video codec. Dynamic video codec negotiation. Adaptive bitrate based on measured network parameters.
  • Improved resiliency of enrollment flows for Assist Android agent
Workspace ONE Assist now supports detailed enrollment health check and retry mechanism in Android devices. With this enhancement, any failures that can be mitigated are handled without any manual interventions. Event logs within the UEM console now provide consistent enrollment status (Success/Failure).
  • Support for fine gesture controls on Android that allows actions like drag/drop, pattern unlocks, and long presses
Workspace ONE Assist now supports fine gesture controls on Android that allows actions like drag/drop, pattern unlocks, and long presses. With this enhancement, admins can now unlock devices remotely through an Assist session to continue troubleshooting or maintenance.
    • Windows devices must have Intelligent Hub v23.10.
    • To perform an unattended session, start the remote support session with the screen share tool. Starting a session with the file manager or remote shell tool will default the session to attended mode.Expanded support for Unattended mode across all Corporate owned Windows devices
In this release, we have expanded the support for unattended mode on all corporate owned Windows devices. Windows devices with Azure AD or Domain joined is no longer a requirement for unattended screen share sessions.
      Note:
  • Support for unattended remote control on Motorola devices with the OEM configuration
Assist leverages the Google screencast APIs and accessibility permission to provide remote control capabilities on Motorola devices which often requires manual interactions to grant permissions which is not ideal for unattended use cases.
With this release, we are adding support for remote control using the OEM configurations available through the 'Moto OEMConfig' application.
  • Support for Android 14
Announcing support for Android devices running OS 14.

Workspace ONE® Access 23.09 (On-Premise)

  • Redesigned Database Connection Setup page
    • The Workspace ONE Access appliance VA Configuration > Database Connection Setup page has been redesigned to make it easier to configure and manage the external database properties. You now set up each component of the JDBC URL in a separate field.
  • New directory sync safeguards for groups
    • In this release, we've enhanced directory sync safeguards to improve the efficiency of group synchronization. You can now set safeguards for removing and updating groups.
  • Directory sync logs and alerts improvements
    • Directory sync logs and alerts have been improved to make it easier for administrators to monitor user and group sync, and troubleshoot issues. On a directory's Sync Logs tab, you can get an overview of the changes in each sync run. The Sync Details page displays audit events, with details about each event. Similarly, alerts appear in a Sync Alerts window.
    • The sync logs and alerts pages can now handle large numbers of audit events and alerts.
  • Citrix keyword filtering option for virtual apps collections
    • We've improved the performance of Citrix sync operations by adding a Keyword Filtering option to enable filtering at the virtual apps collection level.
  • User Interface improvements

    • The following pages have been removed: Auto Discovery, Terms of Use, and Connectors (Legacy).
  • Removal of support for legacy connectors
    • Workspace ONE Access 23.09 does not support legacy connectors (version 19.03.0.1 and earlier). The Connectors (Legacy) page has been removed from the Workspace ONE Access console.
  • Continuous improvements
    • The 23.09 release also includes security improvements and other product fixes.

Workspace ONE Boxer for Android 23.10

  • Quality improvements and crash fixes

Workspace ONE Notebook for iOS 23.10

  • Support for Apple iOS 17
  • Bug fixes and quality improvements

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Android 23.10

  • Open the Hub FAQ links within Hub: Hub FAQ links now seamlessly open within the Hub app, eliminating the need to launch a separate browser on the device. This is particularly helpful for restricted/Kiosk mode deployments (especially for frontline use-cases) where users are not expected to navigate out of the Hub app.
  • See OEMConfig and other headless apps: Administrators can now see when an OEMConfig application, like KNOX Service Plugin or Zebra OEMConfig clients, is installed on their devices. By default, Workspace ONE UEM does not collect and display information about installed applications when said apps do not have an icon (AKA "headless apps"). This includes many OEMConfig clients. Administrators can now push a Custom Settings Profile to enable sampling and reporting of headless applications, including the installed version. See How to Enable Sampling of OEMConfig and Other Headless Apps for more information.
  • Support for custom messages for Workspace ONE Mobile Threat Defense: Administrators can now add content to the standard alerts sent to users for policy violations and when threats are detected. The additional content will be presented in Intelligent Hub in the threat details' page. Content can include corporate or legal content additional steps or advice, URLs for Support sites, and other important information.
