KB Highlights & Announcements Week 26-24:
Devices are stuck at Await Configuration for Apple Business Manager (ABM) devices (6000045)
- Customer's may face an issue where their devices are stuck at Configuring Device during enrollment via Device Enrollment Program(DEP). This should only affect customers who have Await Configuration enabled in their DEP profile.
- Customers using the Check-In/Check-out (CICO) flow on their iOS devices may observe issues with profiles and applications not being assigned or removed from devices when a user checks out a device.
- 2024/06/25 17:40 - The issue has been mitigated across all SaaS environments by rolling back the APNS cert. Engineering has also identified the root cause for the corrupted new APNS cert and are working to redeploy the new APNS certificates.
- We are in the journey of changing the Workspace ONE UEM system from an interdependent model to a microservice-based system. This transformation is essential for us to stay well ahead of your growing business needs may that be due to BYO programs for your remote workforce or new IoT devices or hyper-automation of your processes.
- The new microservice architecture is going to:
- Improve Scalability
- Improve Performance
- Bring your desired new features and functionality faster and with greater reliability
- This article aims to inform Workspace ONE administrators about the logic behind Organization Group placement for devices enrolled into Workspace ONE UEM through Apple's Automated Device Enrollment (ADE), formerly known as the Device Enrollment Program (DEP).
- The following sections outline how the device Organization Group (OG) is finalized within Workspace ONE for Apple's ADE device enrollment. These include Prerequisites, OG Placement Attributes, and Placement Overview. For an illustrated view, please see the Flowchart Section.
- After a period of time, the Connection Server will no longer accept connections to the admin page, or via Horizon software client or HTML client. The page times out.
- Underlying Network accessibility to the connection broker is ok (ping, nslookup,)
- A restart of the Connection Server service restores connectivity.
- If you generate a Horizon broker bundle and check ws_diag.txt (in the "diagnostics" directory)from Connection Server log bundles which is collected in the middle of a this issue.

Workspace ONE UEM: End of Life of deprecated Workspace One UEM APIs (95397)
- The Workspace ONE UEM team is consistently driving to improve and ensure that we are delivering a hardened and secure platform for all UEM customers. As part of delivering on that goal, the UEM team has targeted a large group of the current Workspace ONE UEM APIs with the intent to overall improve our API health.
- The first major milestone of these changes is targeted at a key component of any API lifecycle, deprecating legacy APIs previously marked for deprecation. These APIs have held deprecated status for a considerable period, and the introduction of newer APIs has brought forth additional security requirements. In line with our commitment to enhancing the performance and security posture of Workspace ONE UEM APIs, we will remove these deprecated APIs and, where applicable, substitute them with improved alternatives.
