VMware EUC Security Advisories:

KB Highlights & Announcements Week 06-24:

Work profile enrollments using tokens for Registered Android 10+ devices may fail (96475)

  • In the process of token-based enrollment for registered devices, the Workspace ONE UEM console will now validate device identifiers like IMEI, Serial Number, and UDID against those configured during device registration. Previously, although these identifiers were configured during device registration in the console, the validation check was overlooked during enrollment. This loophole allowed devices to be enrolled even if the identifiers didn't match, posing a security risk.

Worskpace One Access (vIDM) users not being able to login to VMware Aria operations because of the error "Not supported user type" (96468)

  • Logins to VMware Aria Operations for logs failing with the error Not supported user type. Incomplete domain information received

Workspace ONE SDK apps occasionally non-responsive on latest Android versions (13 and 14) (96087)

  • On Android vesions 13 and 14, we have observed occasional ANR (Application Not Responding) issues in Workspace ONE Android SDK apps using SDK version 23.07 or above. When the issue occurs, the app becomes non-responsive and the user is not able to use it any longer.

Windows MSIX applications only support auto deployment in Workspace ONE UEM (96415)

  • MSIX applications are deployed via the OMA-DM channel to Windows devices. Because of this deployment channel,  MSIX applications are not supported via On Demand deployment in the Intelligent Hub. Administrators can still deploy MSIX apps via auto deployment but the application will not be available in the Intelligent Hub catalog. The progress of the installation will not be shown in the progress monitor.

Announcing End of Support for ChromeOS Management v1 (96311)

  • ChromeOS Management using the Chrome Management Partner Access API (also called Chrome v1) will reach End of General Support by end of April 2024.  Following the EOGS, Chrome v1 will reach End of Life by August 2024.
ChromeOS Management was updated in early 2023 with support for the Chrome Policy API, or Chrome v2.  Today, it is not possible to perform a Chrome EMM registration using Chrome v1 due to a security update in the registration flow.
The Chrome Policy API provides a number of benefits, such as support for EDU domains, better visibility of policies configured, additional profile settings, and improved reliability.
