Introduction

With the latest Hub Services release (July) and the Intelligent Hub, Workspace ONE now finally supports to uninstall applications through the Intelligent Hub. This is available for both macOS and Windows users.

macOS

Windows

As this is one of the highest requested features from customers in the last year, i though it made sense to write a quick blog about it.

Requirements

A couple of requirements are necessary for the uninstall button to show up in the Intelligent Hub. First you will need the newest version of the Intelligent Hub to be installed on your device.

Keep in mind that the version of the Intelligent Hub is connected to your UEM version and it's not best practices to install a newer version of Intelligent Hub on an older UEM. Windows Intelligent Hub (2206) will be available with the upgrade of your console to 2206. Make sure that the updates are enabled for Windows Intelligent Hub:

Settings > Devices & Users > Windows > Windows Desktop > Intelligent Hub Application.

For macOS the Intelligent Hub 22.08 is required and will be available in the next release of Workspace ONE UEM: 2209. Make sure that updates are enabled for your macOS Intelligent Hub:

Settings > Devices & Users > Apple > Apple macOS > Intelligent Hub Settings.

  • Workspace ONE UEM 21.11+

Configuration

In the assignment of the application you can control the uninstall option through the Desired State Management switch:

If the switch is turned off, the uninstall option is available for the user in the catalog.

Keep in mind that this button is greyed out on On Demand application as there is no support of controlling this for an On Demand application. Only when you force down an application through Auto Deployment you can remove the option to uninstall.
