Workspace ONE Tunnel for Windows 23.02 - We have consolidated the MDM and Standalone enrollment workflows in a unified client. This release replaces the existing two clients:
- Client version 2.2 for the Managed workflow
- Client version 3.3 for the Standalone workflow
All existing workflows for both clients are supported in the new 23.02 client. - Introducing Session Authentication with SAML for Windows Tunnel client in Managed mode
- This client also supports the Session Authentication feature in Standalone mode.
- Minimum requirements for this feature for Managed mode
- Windows 10+
- Workspace ONE UEM 2302 or later
- UAG 2303 or later
- Introducing support for environment variables in application executable path for DTR
- This will enable application executables that are in variable folders to be used with Tunnel.
- Example: "%user%", "%ProgramData%", "%localappdata%\programs\[application name]" etc.

KB Highlights & Announcements Week 16: VMware Tunnel Client - Support for Standalone enrollment (88311) - The Workspace ONE Tunnel clients on Windows, macOS and Android platforms now support Standalone enrollment. There is not requirement for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub or any device management.
- There are two Tunnel clients available on macOS, one for supporting Standalone enrollment and one for existing Hub and MDM workflows.
- For Windows, the VMware Tunnel client starting from version 23.02 supports Standalone enrollment in addition to the existing MDM workflows within the same client.
- For Android, the VMware Tunnel client starting from version 22.09 supports Standalone enrollment in addition to the existing MDM workflows within the same client.

VMware is making changes to enhance the security posture of cloud-based endpoints related to this enrollment method on March 1st, 2023. As a result of this change enrollment using some older QR codes may fail. As a resolution, new QR codes will need to be generated as replacements for affected QR codes. - VMware Workspace ONE UEM New Control Plane SaaS Deployment Schedule (86243)
Workspace ONE UEM has undergone a complete re-architecture to modernize the platform using microservices and containers to enable increased scalability and performance and increase the rate of innovation. Now after having conducted significant and careful testing, these architecture updates, including a new control plane, will be deployed to UEM SaaS environments over the next several weeks, with options available to on-premise customers after this roll-out (Later in 2022). - Support Access Policies for Customers with Expired SaaS EUC Licenses (89494)
In alignment with VMware's Corporate Standards and those of the industry as a whole, VMware customers who have purchased SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) licenses for EUC (End-User Computing) products can expect the behavior outlined in the KB regarding Support access when their subscription has a status of Active Pending Cancellation or Expired/Cancelled.
